About Cause & Affect
Have you ever wondered if it is possible for people here in America to directly impact the lives of those less-fortunate people, even if they live on the other side of the world?
Well, this is indeed possible. In fact, that is our mission here at Cause & Affect Foundation, which is an innovative non-profit organization that seeks to provide a direct link between its donors and its needy beneficiaries around the world.
Our work is centered around the research and philanthropic missions of our Chairman Adam Carter, who began this type of work back in 2003. With a Masters in International Development from George Washington University and experience with large-scale organizations, Mr. Carter learned firsthand that many people born into poverty do not receive any aid whatsoever from their governments or from international organizations. By traveling to these hard-pressed regions and witnessing the realities they face firsthand, Mr. Carter is able to assess the most effective ways to help, often by forming partnerships with local partners and assisting pre-existing local non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
It is these "baby NGO’s," often run by "local heroes" that Cause & Affect often chooses to partner with. As many development practitioners will admit, the most serious shortfall of many larger organizations is their top-down approach to development, which often ignores the local realities or the useful knowledge of the local community. By working directly with well-run, accredited local projects, Cause & Affect ensures that their funds provide "more bang for the buck" by helping local people help themselves.
Through fundraisers, mailings and public exposure, Cause & Affect relies on the donations of individuals, companies and grants to support their projects on a global scale. Through e-mail updates, blogs, multi-media presentations, electronic newsletters, photos and videos, Cause & Affect reports back to its donors, raising awareness about issues affecting the world’s less-fortunate on a daily basis.
What sets Cause & Affect apart from the array of non-profits already in existence is their focus on providing the most direct form of philanthropy possible, which often allows the foundation to assist people that no other organizations help. By maintaining a broad scope, they are able to address the most pressing needs of each country or region and in the process are able to raise awareness about the myriad of important issues encountered.
